3 days Akagera national park, is one of the largest national parks in Rwanda and covers approximately 1,200 square kilometer along the Tanzania border. Akagera was established in 1934 to protect the fauna and flora in the savannah, mountain and swamp.

The park is named after Akagera the river that flows along the boundaries and feeds pother lakes such as Ihema.

The park is a home to mammals including elephants, cape Buffaloes, Rhinos, olive baboons, zebra, Topi, waterbuck, Antelope, oribi, reedbuck, impala, eland, duiker and many more.

There also primates including vervets, blue monkey, bush babies, with a number of habitants, the park is visited by tourists.one is recommended to combine a tour of Nyungwe and Volcanoes in case you’re visiting Akagera.

The park also inhabits a number of bird species such the shoe bill stock, cattle Egret, Hamerkop, scared and Hadada Ibis, Augur Buzzard ,pied crow, black-headed and Violets black weaver ,fan-tailed widowbird ,grey-backed fiscal and countless birds inhabited the swamps in big number.

Visiting the national park give you an opportunity to spot a number of mammals, primates and a lot of bird species for bird lovers this will be your great experience in a life time.

Day 2 game drive

Wake up as early as 6am,have breakfast and transfer for an early morning game drive to spot and view the wildlife such as Buffaloes ,topis, elephants, hyenas, zebras this early morning the cuts are available returning from their prey .this early morning game drive gives you an opportunity to spot a number of animals as they ,

Return from the morning game drive back to the lodge and after park lunch have bottled water. Our guide will transfer you north of the park to the Mutumba hill for a boat cruise to spot bird species, hippos, crocodiles and many more.

Day 3 Akagera National park-Kigali

After your breakfast embark on a safari vehicle and transfer to Kigali enjoy an en-route game drive to spot more wildlife species, have lunch and drive to Kigali.
