Gorilla habituation experience is one of the amazing experience in the habitat of Mountain Gorillas .Gorilla habituation is one of the best acts one can encounter to train the wild Gorillas how to live close to human beings as they continue their day to day activities in the wild such feeding, playing, grooming each other, displaying their nests for night use and many more.
The habituation experience it involves different groups such as trekkers, researchers, rangers, conservationist and many more. The groups mentioned above each individual takes a period of 2-3 years completing the training of Mountain Gorillas.
This experience has become a stable activity which is presented by the Uganda wildlife experience on a small scale.
The habituation experience has a maximum of 4 people in a group for a day, for the habituation process one needs to book in advance about 6 months pro to the day experience, especially the months of December throughout March, July to October. This is different from Gorilla trekking experience, a tourist spends more time with the mountain gorillas.
Gorilla habituation one spends a little low for USD 1500 for each person participating in the habituation experience well as Gorilla trekking costs USD 600.
Uganda has one of the amazing habituation experiences to encounter which is in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park where it can only done and hardly existent in Rwanda or Democratic Republic of Congo.
There about 11 habituated groups that include Rushegura, Habinyanja and Mubare these are found at Buhoma, North of the park, at Rushaga in the south where you will find Bweza, Nshonji, Bweza, Mishaya, Kahungye, Nkuringo and Busingye Gorilla group. In the East part of Bwindi at Ruhija there are the Kyaguriro, Bitukura gorilla group and Oruzogo.
However their only two groups that is ready for habituations experience these at Rushaga and Nkuringo which are set aside as Gorilla families that are available for habituation.
During this process, Tourists are able to learn, understand the Gorillas deeper individually learn their behaviors, as well as naming each individually every single Mountain Gorilla.
When the habituation experience ends the researchers are very certain that the wild gorillas are okay and able to live close with people, a mock exercise is done is order to prove their facts.
When the Gorillas pass the exercise which now includes scientists, journalists, the gorilla group is available for trekking.
